Covewood is truly a unique setting for your special day. We're easily reached, yet remote enough to ensure your privacy. Our natural beauty complements the unhurried schedule we encourage. A typical banquet facility might allow you a single room for a very few hours, with another party scheduled immediately after yours. Your Covewood wedding can span an entire weekend, allowing you and your guests plenty of time to relax and enjoy our beautiful wilderness setting. Many of your guests may not have seen each other since the last family wedding; they'll appreciate the opportunity to spend some time together.
When to Have a Covewood Wedding
Covewood's summers are completely booked by our many repeat guests. As a result, the best times for weddings are late May, the first part of June (before the summer season begins), September, and October.
The rental charge for the Main Lodge is $6,500 (doe not include tax and gratuity). This includes use of the entire building; accommodations for up to 25, (including three, two bedroom apartments); kitchens; reception rooms; and library. Please Note: There is NO SMOKING anywhere inside the Main Lodge. Advise your guests accordingly.
A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required to hold your weekend.
Numbers and Accommodations
Receptions are limited to 150 guests with a buffet meal. Sit-down meals are limited to 75.
The Main Lodge can accommodate up to 25 guests. The cottages can provide additional accommodations for up to 87 people. Specific cottage descriptions can be found in the Lodging section of the Covewood website. Maximum occupancies must be observed due to health and fire codes. To find the rental rate for each cottage divide the summer weekly rental for the cottage by seven. This is the nightly rate. There is a two night minimum for cottage rentals. In addition, New York State has an 8.25% sales tax for rentals of less than a week.
Additional accommodations may be available at the Big Moose Inn (just 1 mile away) and the Waldheim (located across the lake; a mile by boat, or 4 miles by road.) Please Note: The bride and groom are responsible for arranging cottage assignments.
Be sure to remind your guests to bring toiletry items, flashlights, heavy sweaters/sweatshirts, and rain gear. Guests requiring irons or similar items should provide their own, as we have a limited number available. Many couples include an information sheet in their invitations outlining directions, local attractions, and a schedule of events for the weekend. We have samples sheets available.
A cookout at Covewood Lodge is often held in lieu of the traditional rehearsal dinner. There are also a number of food trucks that can come in, or excellent restaurants in the area to consider:

Raquette Lake Dinner Cruise
Seventh Lake House
The Woods Inn
A continental breakfast can be set up in the dining room the mornings before and after the wedding. It can either be catered by one of the area restaurants or taken care of by the wedding party.

Inlet Community Church
St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Old Forge
